  1. Hi there! You might also want to check out Rosalind Creasy and her books on the Edible Landscape. She’s in Northern California (Bay Area) and comes around occasionally on speaking tours. She is a wonderful gardener and especially garden designer, great lecturer (former teacher) along with being a photographer AND a good cook. Her Edible Garden series is particularly a favorite, with wonderful photography along with growing advice and recipes on how to use everything once you’ve grown it! This group of books is out of print now, but you can find them at used book stores and Amazon pretty easily. She has others in print in local book stores.

A great reference book for California gardening is the one from the University of California Cooperative Extension (UCCE) Master Gardeners. It has scientifically tested methods for gardening specifically intended for California–which, as you know, isn’t like gardening in the rest of the country…

Thanks for the website and best wishes for your garden.

    Cheers,

    Garden Goddess

    • Thanks Garden Goddess! I will definitely check out the master gardener book. Becoming a master gardener is on my to do list!
